Sweden’s new party, Alternative for Sweden (AfS), launched a crowdfunding campaign on YouTube today. The party was founded a few weeks ago by Gustav Kasselstrand, a former member of the right-wing Sweden Democrats party.

On its website Alternative for Sweden says it wants to mobilise “like-minded movements and voters all around the world” and hopes that they will help funding the party’s election campaign for Sweden’s election on 9 September this year.
AfS says that “The first video aims at the United States and the millions of American voters who put Donald Trump in the White House”. The party announced that more crowdfund campaigns will follow later.
The AfS could be a serious competitor for the Sweden Democrats (SD), as it is more right-wing and consists of several former SD members.
A Swedish source told us about Alternative for Sweden: “They have inside information. Inside SD, you have the ‘liberals’ and the more traditionalistic ones. Many people are upset with all the liberals.”
